A tutorial I was asked to write after posting a rough explanation of faked caustics directly inside Terragen 2 in a forum. [link]

Everything for .tgd scene described in the tutorial is included in the download.

Download is 739kb.

You can also view the full tutorial online here... [link]

Thanks! :)

*** UPDATE ***
Now edited as I forgot to say to UNPLUG the 'Caustics Image Map' from 'Caustics Ground Function' after the 'dry' render is done. We only want caustics underwater!
Thanks. :)

Yes, the water does have real 'bump' it's gently displaced(under half a cm. scale) with the actual caustics image map, so the caustic luminosity layer matches the waves exactly. :)
I enjoy trying to do things I'm not really alowed/supposed to be able to do, this is one of them, as T2 currently doesn't support transparency or refraction for water(or objects in general) by normal means yet. ;)

One cannot truly fight evil without first being corrupted by it.
No probs.
You'll just need to take the basic ideas from the tut' and adjust them to your scene to suit.

Cheers! :)
